Welcome to PCHE!

PCHE STATEMENT OF PURPOSE:

Port Cities Home Educators' main purpose is to support and encourage homeschooling families.

PCHE OBJECTIVES:

  • The PCHE Board seeks to honor Christ and uphold Biblical principles in its decision making for the group.
  • Membership is open to anyone who wishes to be a part of this group.
  • Please note that all PCHE meetings will begin with prayer, offered by a Board member, seeking God's direction and blessing.
  • PCHE will seek to provide regularly scheduled meetings, current emails, and group activities.

Behavioral Codes and Dress Codes for PCHE:

  1. Children who choose to participate in activities with PCHE must agree to follow the instructions of parents and other leaders. Obeying those instructions and exhibiting respect toward parents and other leaders is a condition for remaining at an activity.
  2. At no time will the following activities be appropriate: use of bad language, possessing alcohol, drugs or tobacco products, inappropriate public display of affection, possessing a gun, knife or other dangerous weapon, or disregard for the guidelines and disrespect for parents or other leaders.
  3. Please note that if this does occur the child will be asked to leave. Further attendance at PCHE events will require the adult to attend with the child.
  4. A positive, pleasant and kind attitude toward one another is strongly encouraged.

Dress Code:

  1. Dress code for activities should be appropriate for the occasion. In order to preserve an atmosphere of integrity, respect and to insure an experience free of distractions, please note the following guidelines for all events.
  2. Shorts should be mid-thigh in length.
  3. Dresses and skirts should be no shorter than just above the knee.
  4. No spaghetti straps and shoulder straps should be at least three fingers wide. Shirts should be long enough to cover the midriff (front and back) even when hands are raised.
  5. No “muscle-shirts”.
  6. T-Shirts should not display inappropriate wording or graphics.
  7. If there are skirts worn with a slit-they need to be modest and contain no more than a 3-4" slit.
  8. "Baggy" pants with undergarments showing are unacceptable.

We appreciate your attention to these matters.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

PCHE events and field trips are for PCHE members & their families. Please do not invite friends who are not PCHE members. This way we can be assured that there is room for all who sign up. Thank you.

All activities are subject to change. Please keep up with the most current times, dates and cancellations via the PCHE email loop.

MEMBERS:

Watch your PCHE email for more details on these and other events and get-togethers. Or check the PCHE Calendar.

We are grateful for volunteers who help us in many areas! If you would like to volunteer, here are some areas where members can help out:

  • Graduation

  • Presentation Night

  • Project Night

  • Planning a field trip

  • Park Days

  • Students in Print

  • Christmas Parties

  • Year Book

  • Teen Teams

  • Co-ops

Contact the PCHE board at pche@pche.net and let them know where you would like to help out or ask them where you can help out. They should be able to give you some direction.

Also, be sure to watch your PCHE emails....many opportunities for helping within our group come through the email loop. It takes all of us working together to make our group work.

PCHE MEETINGS:

Please feel welcome to visit us if you are not a member. We would love to meet you and introduce you to other homeschoolers.

PCHE CALENDAR:

When you go to the Calendar, you may click on any of the events listed and it will bring up more details about that event.

If you are new to PCHE or homeschooling and would like to be contacted by one of our members, just hit the email link and send us an email. Then someone will give you a call or answer by email whichever you prefer. We love helping others get started teaching their children.
